FUNCTIONS EVENTS AND ACTIVITY CENTRE
ABOUT US
Ravenstonedale Community and Heritage Centre is a registered charity serving the local community and beyond as a venue available for hire for a wide range of activities.
The Centre, a former chapel, is situated in the centre of the picturesque village of Ravenstonedale.
Opened in 2016, we have developed from a disused chapel into a vibrant community centre used for regular events, classes and celebrations.
The Centre is run by a volunteer management committee. They are dynamic, enthusiastic and brimming with ideas. They work hard on fund raising for the ongoing repair and maintenance of the Centre, ensuring it continues to be a valuable resource for the local community.
Keep up to date with our events, follow us on Facebook and Instagram.

MEET THE COMMITTEE
From left to right...
Clara Allinson
Secretary
Despite living outside the area now, as secretary, I am passionate about preserving and renovating the community and heritage centre as a vital hub for local events and activities.
Helen Shields
Chair
I have lived and worked in the Parish of Ravenstonedale since 1988 and been chair of RCHC since 2010. I believe passionately in the value of community and that our historic building is an invaluable asset; owned and run by the community, for the community. My role, as chair, is to share this passion and ensure that all members of our community feel valued, safe and welcome in this space.
Ann Wappett
Trustee
I am an active member of the Ravenstonedale community, co-leading our monthly coffee mornings and running the Soundbath sessions. You can even catch me helping out in the Scar Gallery. The RCHC has a place at the heart of our community and it is important to me to help keep it there.
Jan Hardcastle
Trustee
Since moving to Ravenstonedale I have been fortunate to be able to use the hall for a number of activities that I lead – circuits and sewing, as well as organise our annual craft fair. I became a member of the Management Committee to widen my contribution and ensure the RCHC continues to provide for our community.
Emma Lewis
Vice Chair
I have lived in and around the village since I was a teenager. Spending my childhood in Kirkby Stephen. With a background in quality management, I bring a compliance knowledge and an enthusiasm for a local usable community space within our village.
Hilary Law
Trustee
I am someone who strongly believes in a vibrant community. I have worked for our Parish community for nearly 50 years in many guises so when Ravenstonedale lost all 3 of our community spaces (Swan Ballroom, Kings Head & School's upper rooms) I encouraged the purchase of High Chapel for community use and agreed to be a committee member to continue to support our village community.
Emma Rose
Treasurer
I have lived in the village since 2018, embracing and engaging with our community. I want to ensure that the RCHC continues to serve our parish, providing a space to bring us together. I contribute my knowledge and experience of both governance and finance to the Committee.
